Wild Well Control Training - Strategies & Tactics for Municipal Responders

Calling all First Responders across West Texas! The WTxEC is excited to offer three training dates around the region for community fire, hazmat, police, and EMS personnel to learn more about the skills necessary to effectively respond to an oilfield emergency...at absolutely no cost to registrants. Space is limited to 75 participants per session, so SAVE THE DATE(S) below, and mark your calendars to attend the training nearest you!

All trainings listed are FREE, run 10:00am to 5:00pm and include lunch. Click below to register!

  • Saturday, March 28, 2015 - Odessa, Texas - Odessa College
  • Saturday, April 18, 2015 - Abilene, Texas - ATMOS Energy
  • Wednesday, May 6, 2015 - San Angelo, Texas (in conjunction with the WTxEC 2nd Annual Conference) - McNease Convention Center

Each six-hour course covers effective strategies and tactics for response to oilfield emergencies. Personnel responding to an oilfield emergency must deal with a unique set of safety factors, each with the potential to escalate catastrophically if initial response is inaccurate and resources are ineffectively assigned.  This course is intended to prepare tactical response personnel with jurisdiction over oilfield emergencies, to better manage their incident scenes, integrate resources, and work more effectively with local agencies and well control specialists.

Six hours of CE in Incident Management will be awarded for completing the course!

Who should attend?

  • Fire Departments
  • Hazmat Teams
  • Public Safety and Emergency Management Personnel (including dispatch supervisors)
